 Q. Is Dermalift comfortable?

When the gentle microcurrents are applied to the muscle and tissue of the face, neck and throat, they gently stimulate those areas that have lost or seem to be losing their youthful glow and resilience. The finer lines that have formed around the eyes will start to diminish and your skin texture will take on a much fresher appearance, feeling smoother and rejuvenated.

  • Facial muscles lifted and toned
  • Reduced lines and wrinkles
  • Firmer facial contours
  • Finer pores due to increased elasticity
  • Reduced puffiness from around the eyes
  • Released expression and stress lines

Microdermabrasion

 Q. What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, non-invasive process that offers safe and controlled skin abrasion.

This procedure utilizes aluminum oxide micro crystals of a high medical grade, which are propelled at high speed across the skin's surface to abrade the skin's tissue. This technique, also known as "The Lunch-time Peel" is performed on an in, out basis, it is very quick, relatively painless and results are seen immediately. There is very limited downtime or side effects and make-up can be applied if needed.

All skin types can be treated, as well as the following conditions can be treated:Hyperpigmentation (brown spots)Sun-DamageAcne (clogged pores and scars)BlemishesDry SkinOily Skin

 Q. How does Microdermabrasion work?

The stimulated blood flow to the surface of the skin increases the oxygenation, causing an enhancement of cell renewal. The massaging action of the microdermabrasion treatment creates a flushing and cleansing effect below the skin surface resulting in a vibrant healthy rejuvenated appearance and complexion.

 Q. Am I suitable for Microdermabrasion?

The most suitable people for Microdermabrasion are those people who are very active and don't want to take the longer recovery time needed for laser resurfacing or chemical peels. Other ideal candidates are those who are sensitive to chemicals, or who are not responding well to acne medication, or those suffering from melasma (blotches of skin pigmentation).

Bronze Effects Spray Tan

 Q. What is a Bronze Effects Spray On Tan?

It’s a new way of applying sunless tanning solution to your body. It combines the latest advances in sunless tanning products with turbo technology.

A very fine mist of sunless tanning solution covers your body in seconds. A bronzer gives you immediate golden-brown colour, and DHA gives you a long-lasting tan. Plus, a high-quality moisturizer makes you skin feel soft and supple.
^ TOP

 Q. What preparation do I need to do?

It is recommended that prior to your appointment you give your body a full exfoliation to remove any dry skin. (we can do this for you if needed) Also don’t use any moisturiser or deodorant.
^ TOP

 Q. What do I wear?

We provide disposable underwear for you to use or you can wear your own. Some people chose to wear a swimsuit. Your privacy is assured in a locked room.
^ TOP

 Q. What’s in it?

All the components in the Bronze Effects Tanning solution can be found in high-end cosmetic products. The key components are:

  • Bronzer Basically colouring.
  • DHA Dihydroxyacetone, the active ingredient in most sunless tanning products.
  • Moisturizer - Aloe Vera and Vitamin E.

^ TOP

 Q. What does the tan look like?

The initial tan, which you observe in seconds, is a deep, dark brown. The initial colour is from the bronzer, and some of it will wash off with your first bath or shower. The DHA tan, which peaks after 12 to 24 hours, is a golden-brown colour.
^ TOP

 Q. How long does it take?

Most clients are in-and-out of the tanning room in 5 to 15 minutes, and most of the time is spent reading a book, having a coffee and allowing the tan to dry.
^ TOP

 Q. How long will it last?

Our clients are reporting that the tan typically lasts 5 to 7 days.

The bronzer gives you instant colour. The colour intensifies rapidly, practically doubling in the first 30 minutes. The intensity again more-or-less doubles overnight. Some of the bronzer washes off with your first bath or shower, but the DHA tan remains. The DHA tan begins to fade after about 24 to 48 hours, but you should have a distinct tan for 5 to 7 days.

Lifestyle can influence how quickly your tan exfoliates. Swimming in chlorinated pools, long hot baths and excessive sweating can all cause your tan to fade. Using moisturiser twice daily will help to maintain your tan.
^ TOP

 Q. How often do I need to do it?

That’s up to you. Once a week will give you colour. Twice a week gets you quite dark. Some people want to be very dark, and do it even more often.

We recommend you go twice your first week to get a base tan, and once or twice a week after that, depending on your preference.
^ TOP

 Q. Will I turn orange or streak?

No, you won’t Bronze Effects is the most advanced sunless-tanning method on the market.

^ TOP

 Q. Is it safe?

Bronze Effects tan is a cosmetic. It uses the same basic sunless tanning components as the products being promoted as a smart alternative to UV-exposure. The FDA recognizes DHA as a safe and effective external skin colorant.

^ TOP

 Q. What about allergic reactions?

If you have hypersensitive skin, or are allergic to sunless-tanning products we recommended a test patch prior to having your full body sprayed.

^ TOP

 Q. Is it safe to tan while pregnant?

We do not recommend tanning during pregnancy. Women often do Bronze Effects during pregnancy, and we have had no reports of problems. However, no formal studies have been done on the effects of tanning with respect to pregnancy. We highly advise pregnant women to check with their physician prior to tanning.

 Q. Will it transfer to clothes?

As with any other coloured cosmetic, this product has the potential to transfer to clothing. In the vast majority of cases, transferred colour washes right out. The most likely time for transfer is immediately after tanning. We recommend that you wear loose fitting, dark-coloured clothes at that time.

IPL Permanent Hair Removal

 Q. How does it work?

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. The IPL System works by utilising highly controlled flashes of light that are absorbed by the hair-filled follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages or destroys the regrowth potential of the follicle, without damaging the surrounding tissue.
^ TOP

 Q. Can all hairs be treated?

The treatment relies on absorption of light into the hair pigment (melanin), the most effective treatment is seen in dark hair. The lighter the skin the more effective the separation is between the hair and skin colour making the treatment easier. The unique software of the Ellipse system has pre-programmed settings for different hair and skin colours that adjust the energy output accordingly.
^ TOP

 Q. How long does a treatment take?

The treatment begins by trimming away the hair above the skin. (This can been done at home prior to treatment). After a cold gel is spread over the treatment area the IPL hand-piece is then applied to the skin and pulses of light begin disabling unwanted hair.

A facial treatment takes around 15mins, and a back can take 45-60mins
^ TOP

 Q. Does it hurt?

Each pulse of light feels like a slight pinch, similar to the snap of a rubber band. No local anaesthesia is required and most people tolerate the treatment well.
^ TOP

 Q. Do I need to take special precautions before and after a treatment?

It is important NOT to remove hair by waxing, epilation or tweezing at least 4 weeks before treatment this ensures as many follicles possible contain a hair. Do NOT tan prior to treatments. This includes self-tan products. The pulsed light is attracted to melanin, which may cause hypo-pigmentation (skin lightening) if tanned. Always use a sun block.
^ TOP

 Q. How many treatments will I need?

Hair grows in cycles. Only follicles in the active growth phase will respond at each treatment. Resting follicles need to enter the active growth phase before they can be destroyed by the Ellipse treatment, therefore it is necessary to repeat the treatment at intervals (4-8weekly) until all hair follicles have been through the growth phase.

Hair growth cycles are affected by many factors such as body site, hair density, thickness, ethnic origin, hormonal status and age. 5-7 treatments are usually needed
^ TOP

 Q. Is it safe?

Yes. The Ellipse light is not a laser. It is a second-generation Intense Pulsed Light system using broad-spectrum visible light. Its Dual Mode Filtering takes away those wavelengths, which only cause heating of the water in the skin. We only use the clinically relevant wavelengths that decrease client discomfort and the risk of side effects.

The Ellipse light meets the most stringent safety and quality requirements, and is CE marked.

Because of a lack of research we are unable to offer treatments to anyone that is pregnant or currently breast-feeding.

 Q. What can I expect after the treatment?

  • Because treated follicles have been heated, the skin area may swell slightly for a day or so. Swelling results from heat, not infection and is normal and expected.
  • Crusts can occasionally form in some areas. To avoid infection or scarring restrain from picking these areas.
  • You may notice dead hair surfacing 2-3 weeks after treatment. Although this may appear to be new growth, it is not. This process is called purging or shedding and will take time to complete. You should wipe away these hairs with a loafer once the sensitivity of treated area resolves. Start this exfoliating process one week after treatment, but no earlier.
  • For optimal results multiple treatments are necessary. It is recommended that the first four treatments are no longer than 4-6 weeks apart.

^ TOP

 Q. Do i need to take special care of the Treated Area?

  • If needed apply a cool compress to relieve swelling or heat from the treated area.
  • You may experience itching a few days after your treatment you can apply an aloe vera cream or moisturiser to the area.
  • Apply a soothing / healing product daily, 3-4 days after treatment or as directed by your Technician.
  • Pat dry after showering. Do not rub the treated areas.

^ TOP

 Q. What about special precautions between treatments?

  • Do not scratch or pick the area. This may cause infection and possible scarring.
  • Wear clothing and sun block to protect the area from sun exposure. Reapply sun block throughout the day.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

 Q. How does the Ellipse treatment work?

The flash lamp produces a light, which is carefully filtered before it reaches the skin. This ensures that only the correct “types” of light are allowed to reach the dermal layers of the skin - the, non-useful wavelengths are removed by the filters. The light that is allowed through has been chosen because it is the sort that our natural body substances respond to. Age spots contain a substance called Melanin while blood vessels contain haemaglobin. When cells containing a lot of Melanin or haemaglobin are treated with the flash lamp they heat up are destroyed.

 Q. Can I be treated?

All skin types and conditions can benefit from IPL Skin Rejuvenation. Red Veins, Pigmentation and Rosacea can all be treated safely and effectively.

^ TOP

 Q. How long does a treatment take?

The glass prism of the Ellipse applicator, guides light onto the skin so that a large area can be targeted in one flash. A full face treatment takes less than 20 minutes.

Expect a total of 2 to 3 treatments.
^ TOP

 Q. Does it hurt?

Tolerance of pain is very individual from person to person. No anaesthetics are required and many clients describe the feeling as a hot sensation likened to that of mild sunburn.

^ TOP

 Q. Do I need to take special precautions before and after treatment?

The visible light used is completely safe and contains no UV. However, since the light is absorbed by melanin, it is extremely important to avoid sun tanning before and after treatment, this includes the use of fake tanning products. Aloe Vera is applied to the face immediately after treatment to help in cooling the skin. It is recommended to use a sunscreen during the course of your treatments. After treatment it is best not to pick or scratch the area. Treat Gently.

The pigmentation will fall off leaving new skin underneath.

Take care when applying skin products after treatment leaving it to heal naturally.
^ TOP

 Q. What can I expect after treatment?

You may notice that your skin appears a little “dirty” after treatment for pigmentaion. This may take a few weeks to clear. If treated for Red Veins the response time is between 4-8 weeks. After that you will find that your skin looks smoother and fresher.
